Pacific Public Health Foundation Scholarship
About the Scholarship Fund
This scholarship fund was established in the spirit of the 2019 STI and HIV World Congress, held in Vancouver, Canada. It reflects the Pacific Public Health Foundation ongoing commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion within the field of sexual health and HIV research.
We are excited to announce that the Pacific Public Health Foundation (British Columbia, Canada) is offering scholarships to support equity-deserving groups for the 2025 STI & HIV World Congress. These scholarships aim to foster inclusivity and support early career researchers from British Columbia.
Benefits
Scholarship Details
Each scholarship provides $1,500 CAD, which can be used for:
- Registration fees
- Travel expenses
- Accommodation during the Congress
Submission deadline: March 15
When applicants will be notified: March 31
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be an Early Career Researcher, defined as:
- Currently pursuing a graduate degree, medical degree, MPH, or equivalent
- Performing postdoctoral or clinical fellowship training
- Early career researchers who are less than 10 years from their terminal degree
- Self-identify as part of an equity-deserving group, including BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) or other underrepresented groups.
- Be a resident of British Columbia, Canada, at the time of application and when attending the Congress.
- Submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation for the Congress.
- At the time of issuance of the scholarship, the applicant must have had their abstract accepted by the Congress and be registered for the Congress, or advise the Congress by email to stihiv2025-registration@icsevents.com that they want to use a portion of their scholarship funds for Congress registration.
